EA SPORTS FC 27 was revealed on 23 July 2026. The worldwide launch is still ahead: 25 September 2026, with Ultimate and Ultimate Plus early access from 18 September 2026. 23 July 2026 — reveal and pre-orders
The reveal trailer, cover, and edition stack landed together. Kylian Mbappé is the Standard cover star; Ultimate Plus adds Jude Bellingham. Pre-orders opened the same day. Ultimate Plus was an early-bird SKU with a 31 August 2026 cutoff. That window is closed. Ultimate and Standard remain the ongoing purchase paths into launch.
The authenticity slide that day still stands: 21,000+ licensed players, 800+ clubs and national teams, 130+ stadiums, 35+ leagues. The Grounds was introduced as the current-gen social layer around Clubs. FUT Gallery and Dynamic OVR were named as mode headlines before the later Pitch Notes filled them in.
Deep dive week, then August
EA ran a dated Pitch Notes sequence instead of one dump:
- 29 July 2026 — Gameplay. Manual defending, attacking movement, two-phase corners, off-balance dribbling, and the PlayStyles rebalance. Read the gameplay page for what those changes mean in a match.
- 31 July 2026 — Career. Dynamic OVR, rebuilt transfers, Manager Live, and match fitness replacing old training plans.
- 2 August 2026 — Football Ultimate Team. FUT Gallery, branching Evolutions, Live Events, and the PlayStyle+ cap direction for the year.
- 4 August 2026 — The Grounds and Clubs. Districts, small-sided games, and how Clubs sit inside the new hub. Current-gen only (PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, Nintendo Switch 2).
- 2 September 2026 — PC. Launch flow, keyboard controls, and graphics options, including closed-beta feedback.

Closed beta — 5 to 25 August 2026
The invite-only Closed Beta ran from 5 August 2026 (17:00 UTC) to 25 August 2026 (17:00 UTC) on the full platform set, with The Grounds limited to current-gen. Progress was wiped. EA published a feedback update on 3 September 2026. The dedicated Closed Beta page covers Bruiser/shoulder-challenge changes and the promise not to swing early Title Updates hard. Beta access is over; it is not a substitute for Ultimate early access.
Soundtrack — around 10 September 2026

- Prefer dated Pitch Notes (gameplay, Career, FUT, Grounds, PC) over undated threads.
- Separate Closed Beta (wiped, finished) from early access (progress counts, 18 September).
- Treat Web App and Companion times as expected until EA posts them.
- Ignore posts that treat the full retail client as live. It is not.
