Football Ultimate Team in FC 27 is still packs, Rivals, Champions, and SBCs. The new spine is the FUT Gallery: every eligible card you touch can keep scoring for you after it leaves the club. Evolutions branch. Most Player and Upgrade SBCs become a score, not an 11-man puzzle. A Campaign Hub finally puts Objectives, Evos, and tokens on one screen. Play it as a collection mode that also happens to 11v11, not only as a market.
Pre-order Ultimate (early-bird) and Ultimate Plus include an 85+ OVR International ICON untradeable in FC 27. Plus added a 1-of-5 Hall of FUT pick (Akinfenwa, Giovani dos Santos, Loïc Rémy, Fellaini, Eljero Elia). Those SKUs and the closed Plus window are on editions. Promo codes, when they exist, go on Codes. ICON careers and ratings sit under Players. Meta XI talk belongs on the Tier List Hub after you have felt the new defending.
FUT Gallery: sets, grades, tags, level, tokens
Most items from Packs, Transfer Market, Objectives, and SBCs can enter the Gallery. Loans cannot. Evolution cards count as their base item, not the evolved face. Sold and SBC-submitted cards still fill sets. That is the whole point: a gold you dumped in a Player SBC can still grade your Bundesliga set.
Sets are themed: Nations, Leagues, Clubs, Campaigns, plus Custom. Autocomplete exists; manual placement exists. Completing a set is not the end. Each set gets a grade from item scores (OVR and special versions weigh more). You regrade all year as you swap in TOTW, Heroes, ICONs, or Holographics.
Tags are combination bonuses inside a set: a required count of Golds, Campaign items, and so on. Chasing a tag can beat blindly stuffing 90-rated cards. Gallery Level rises as you complete and improve sets. Rewards include cosmetics, Gallery Tokens, and at higher levels a shot at distinctive Holographic items. Tokens spend in a Token Store that rotates kits, badges, and Hall of FUT historical items.
Treat Gallery as a second club. Do not quick-sell every duplicate until you know which league sets you are grading. A 78-rated Gold with the right tag can be worth more than coins.
Gallery Hub (current-gen 3D)
On PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2, Football Ultimate Team’s main space is a 3D Gallery Hub. Favourite sets hang in the room; items appear as 3D objects as you move from Bronze/Silver clutter to Campaign walls. Last-gen and Switch 1 keep the menu FUT experience without that hub. It is cosmetic persistence, not a different ruleset for Rivals.
Holographic items and rarity
When an eligible special is in a pack, a Holographic version of the same item may also be in the pool. Attributes match the standard card. Presentation does not: foil, and for Pristine Holographics a stylised name. Each eligible item has only one Holo version, Regular or Pristine. Holos score higher in Gallery sets because they are rarer.
Base Bronze / Silver / Gold no longer split Common versus Rare. Packs will not advertise a minimum Rare count. EA says the odds of pulling a base item at 82 OVR and below are meant to stay in line with FC 26. Always read the in-pack probability screen.
Campaign Hub and live content
The Campaign Hub is the live-service noticeboard: current Objectives, SBCs, Evolutions, Gallery Sets, Live Events, and tokens in one place. Foundations-style onboarding lives here in Season 1. Single Player Live Events let you play themed AI matches with custom squads, rules, and rising difficulty (for example a knockout that climbs Semi-Pro to Legendary). Themed AI opponents can copy clubs or campaign teams. Tokens from FC 26’s World’s Game update stay as an evergreen and event currency.
End-of-match rewards move a slice of weekly coins and SP onto the final whistle in selected modes, so playing past your weekly caps is not empty. More of the economy is direct coins and tradeable packs. Campaign squads are meant to be smaller and slower: fewer campaign-squad weeks (~five fewer across the year), max PlayStyle+ on one item drops from five to three, and attribute growth from base to endgame is intended to be narrower than FC 26 so cards last longer. Specials get Role++ on every role in primary and secondary positions, which pairs with Attacking Spatial Awareness on the pitch.
Evolution Pathways and chain preview
Some Evolutions now branch. One path might add Technical and dribbling; the other Jockey and defensive awareness. Linear Evos still exist. Evolution Chain Preview lets you see Evo A then the Evos that unlock after, before you commit a card. PlayStyles Lab returns in Season 1 with pre-applied PlayStyles on eligible items and uneven grind costs per style, so you are not wiping an identity to blank slates.
Ultimate editions include an extra Evo slot. Do not put your 85+ pre-order ICON into the first cheap Evo you see; check the chain preview and whether a later Pathway wants that nation or league for a Gallery tag.
Streamlined SBCs
Player and Upgrade SBCs mostly stop asking for chemistry, positions, and squad OVR. You pick eligible club items; each adds a score (same scoring idea as Gallery). Hit the target. Duplicates stack. Partial progress is allowed: submit five cards now, finish tomorrow. Some challenges require a minimum OVR per card; some only care about total score, so a pile of golds can replace two 86s.
Traditional puzzle SBCs remain for Challenge SBCs. Use streamlined for upgrades and player SBCs; keep a lock list so you do not submit the last card a league set needs.
Web App and Companion App (expected, not locked)
EA had not posted a locked Web App date in the FUT Deep Dive. Community timing based on previous years is Web App around 16 September 2026 and Companion App around 17 September 2026, a day or two before 18 September early access. Treat those as expected, not store-page fact, until EA publishes them. Historically you also needed an Ultimate Team club on the previous game before a cutoff (often 1 August) to use the apps early. Packs, SBCs, Evolutions, the Transfer Market, and objectives work in the apps; matches do not.
If you care about Gallery grading from day one of early access, have the app ready so you are not storing every gold “just in case” on the console menus.
How to spend the first week
Complete onboarding in the Campaign Hub. Claim the 85+ ICON if you pre-ordered in the window that included it. Start one league set and one nation set in the Gallery before you list golds. Play enough Rivals or Squad Battles to feel manual defending from the gameplay notes — a 5-star skiller who cannot jockey will not carry you. Leave tradable packs closed until you know which set tags you are chasing. Then look at the first Evolution Pathway with chain preview open.
Career and The Grounds do not share this economy. A Grounds Amp will not grade a Gallery set. Play FUT because you like building a club; play Career if you want TransferRoom and Dynamic OVR instead.
