EA SPORTS FC 27 sells three paid editions plus a free Lite preview. Worldwide launch is 25 September 2026. Ultimate and Ultimate Plus start early access on 18 September 2026. Ultimate Plus was an early-bird SKU from 23 July through 31 August 2026; that purchase window is closed, it never sold on Nintendo or Epic, and you cannot upgrade Ultimate to Plus. Digital list prices in the United States sit around $69.99 Standard, $99.99 Ultimate, and $149.99 Ultimate Plus. Regional storefronts, console bundles, and currency conversion change those numbers. Always confirm the live price on the platform you use.

Lite is not a fourth paid SKU. The EA Play 10-hour trial is a fifth path: full Standard systems for a time box, beginning 18 September 2026 on supported Play platforms.
Standard Edition
Standard is the full game on 25 September 2026. It does not include early access, Premium Passes, or FC Points. Pre-order Standard by 24 September 2026 and Career Mode grants pre-order challenges, three ICONs or Heroes, a 5-star coach, and a 5-star youth scout. The Grounds side of that pre-order (current-gen only) adds the signature sweatsuit, Mbappé Tier 3 AMP, and two AXP multipliers for ten matches. FC 26, sold separately, grants an untradeable 92+ ICON — not on Nintendo Switch or Switch 2.
Buy Standard if you mainly play Career Mode, Kick-Off, or Clubs on a budget and do not need a week of Ultimate Team grinding before the rest of the world. Dual Entitlement still applies: a PlayStation 4 copy can move to PlayStation 5, and an Xbox One copy can move to Xbox Series, at no extra cost. The Grounds itself does not run on last-gen hardware, so those cosmetics only appear where The Grounds exists. Read The Grounds before you buy a PS4 or Xbox One copy expecting the social hub.
Ultimate Edition
Ultimate is the ongoing “start a week early” SKU. It includes full access from 18 September 2026, the Season 1 Premium Pass, an extra Ultimate Team Evolution slot, and up to 6,000 FC Points delivered across three monthly drops. The first drop lands when you first log in. Later drops land on the 15th of each month. You must start that distribution by 1 August 2027 to receive the full 6,000. Redeem after 26 September 2027 and you receive none.
Career extras go beyond Standard: pre-order challenges, a pre-season Dynamic OVR boost, three ICONs or Heroes, a 5-star coach, 5-star youth and senior scouts, and five extra Manager Live Challenge slots. Grounds cosmetics match the same sweatsuit / Mbappé AMP / AXP family as Standard pre-orders.
Early-bird Ultimate purchases completed by 31 August 2026 also include an 85+ International ICON in FC 27, a 93+ ICON 1-of-4 pick in FC 26, and a 99 DRI Evolution in FC 26. After that date Ultimate remains on sale, but those early-bird extras no longer attach. Ultimate is sold across EA App, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, Steam, and Epic.
Ultimate Plus Edition (window closed)
Ultimate Plus existed only as an early-bird offer from 23 July through 31 August 2026. It is not on Nintendo platforms or the Epic Games Store. You cannot buy it after 31 August 2026, and you cannot upgrade Ultimate to Plus. If you missed the window, Ultimate is the remaining early-access SKU.
For players who did purchase Plus, the bundle is the largest FUT head start EA sold: seven days of early access from 18 September 2026, Premium Passes for Seasons 1 through 5, up to 10,000 FC Points across five monthly drops, an 85+ International ICON, a Hall of FUT 1-of-5 pick, and an extra Evolution slot. Career extras include the same Dynamic OVR boost, three ICONs or Heroes, 5-star coach, 5-star youth and senior scouts, and +5 Manager Live slots. Grounds cosmetics match the sweatsuit / Mbappé AMP / AXP set. FC 26 (sold separately, not on Nintendo) adds a 99 DRI Evolution, a 99 PHY Evolution, and a 93+ ICON 1-of-4 pick.
The Hall of FUT pick is a real 1-of-5: Adebayo Akinfenwa, Giovani dos Santos, Loic Remy, Marouane Fellaini, or Eljero Elia. That pick is Plus-only. Ultimate does not include it.
FC Points on Plus follow the same login-then-15th cadence as Ultimate, stretched across five months. You must start the initial distribution by 1 June 2027 to receive all 10,000. Redeem after 26 September 2027 and you receive none. Missing a monthly login does not void later drops; eligible grants catch up the next time you sign in, as long as you started on time.
Lite and the EA Play trial
Lite is a free, limited preview scheduled for 25 September 2026 at 16:00 UTC. Confirmed modes include Kick-Off. It is listed for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, EA App, Steam, and Epic. EA has not listed Nintendo Switch or Switch 2 for Lite. You can upgrade Lite to a paid edition later. Lite is not early access and does not include Ultimate Team progression, Career saves, or The Grounds as a full product.
EA Play members get a 10-hour Standard trial beginning 18 September 2026 on supported Play platforms. That trial is a time box of the full game, not a permanent Kick-Off slice. Use it to sample Career or FUT before you buy. It does not replace Ultimate early access, and it does not grant Plus content.
FC Points schedule (Ultimate and Plus)
Treat FC Points as a login calendar, not a code you type:
- First grant: the first time you log in to FC 27 on a qualifying edition.
- Later grants: the 15th of each following month, for three months (Ultimate) or five months (Plus).
- Start deadline: 1 August 2027 (Ultimate) or 1 June 2027 (Plus) to receive the full advertised total.
- Hard cutoff: redeem after 26 September 2027 and you receive no FC Points from the edition.

Platform caveats worth reading twice
- Ultimate Plus: early-bird only, not Nintendo, not Epic, no upgrade from Ultimate.
- Standard’s 92+ ICON in FC 26: not on Nintendo.
- Other FC 26 bonuses (93+ ICON pick, 99 DRI, 99 PHY): sold-separately FC 26, not Nintendo.
- The Grounds, including Clubs: PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, Nintendo Switch 2 only. Last-gen consoles keep 11v11 and Career; they do not host the social hub.
- Dual Entitlement: PS4 to PS5 and Xbox One to Series at no extra cost. Features still follow the hardware you boot on.
- Lite: PlayStation, Xbox, and PC storefronts. No Switch mention.
Who should buy what
- Lite — you want Kick-Off on 25 September 2026 without paying, and you are fine upgrading later.
- EA Play trial — you want a few hours of the full Standard game from 18 September 2026 before you commit.
- Standard — Career, Kick-Off, or Clubs on a budget; you can wait until 25 September 2026; you still want the 24 September pre-order Career and Grounds extras.
- Ultimate — you want 18 September 2026 access, Season 1 Premium Pass, an extra Evo slot, and 6,000 FC Points. This is the remaining paid early-access SKU now that Plus has closed.
- Ultimate Plus — only relevant if you already bought it during 23 July–31 August 2026. You cannot purchase it after that window.

Can I still buy Ultimate Plus?
No. The early-bird window ran from 23 July through 31 August 2026 and is closed. Plus was never sold on Nintendo or Epic, and EA does not allow an Ultimate-to-Plus upgrade.
